Quad Screen

Shelli called with the Quad Screen results already! Everything came back "all fine." The risk of Down syndrome dropped from 1 in 690 to 1 in 20,000. And the risk of neural tube defects is 1 in 4,400. Keep praying for my healthy, happy growth - it's working! :)

Doctor's Appointment

Today was mommy's second doctor's appointment. Everything went fabulously! Mommy and daddy got to hear my heartbeat again. It was at 140! Shelli brought mommy a bag of free goodies, in addition to giving mommy a new breast pump! Yea! At the end of the appointment, mommy had her blood drawn to run the Quad Screen test. We should have those results back by next week.

The best news of all, mommy's weight gain. What could it be??? 6 pounds!!! Go mommy! She had gained considerably more weight by this point with my sister.... :)

Mommy's ultrasound to see me, measure me and find out if I'm a boy or girl is February 10th. Grandma, Grandpa, Meermaw and Granddady will all be there too. We are all so excited!! Mommy's next doctor's appointment is February 24th. Stay tuned!

Mommy's sick!

Merry Christmas! Mommy is 13 weeks pregnant today and sick! It is definitely a virus, so you can't blame me for it! This week was when mommy and daddy had the ultrascreen test (ultrasound and bloodwork for Downs Syndrome, Trisomony and Spina Bifida) for Kayla. Due to the timing of my 13th week, and the ability to do the test between 16-20 weeks, mommy and daddy have decided to wait to do my tests until February. It's the same test, just slightly less accurate. We'll all just have to be patient to see my next ultrasound picture! At least we got to see one at 6 weeks!

Mommy's next appointment will be scheduled soon for the beginning of January.

1st Doctor's Appointment

Today was mommy's first visit to Shelli. She checked mommy out, up and down, and everything is perfect! Shelli said she would try to hear the heartbeat, but warned us it may be too early. It took Shelli about 2 seconds to locate my heartbeat and mommy and daddy were so excited to get to hear it! Yea!! A strong 160 beats per minute!

Telling Uncle Bubba and Aunt Stacy

Today we celebrated Thanksgiving and told Uncle Bubba and Aunt Stacy about me! :) They took, by far, the longest to get Kayla's t-shirt. We apparently do not have a big group of readers in the family!! They are also excited. Tomorrow we get to go to the Jones gathering and show off Kayla's t-shirt one last time. Then everyone will know! Yea!!!

Telling Meermaw and Granddaddy

Today we met Meermaw and Granddaddy for dinner at Cracker Barrell. We were going to wait until Thanksgiving Day, when Uncle Bubba and Aunt Stacy were also with us celebrating Thanksgiving, but mom and dad got impatient. They put my shirt on and off we went to Cracker Barrell. Tons of time later, well into the meal, Granddaddy finally asked about Kayla's shirt and my news was out. They were so excited!!!!

Telling Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bart & Aunt Kara

Today was the Holzer Thanksgiving celebration. Grandpa is having knee replacement surgery next week, so we had to push up our feast. Mommy and daddy were perfectly fine with this, as that meant they got to spread the news of me!! They bought Kayla a "Big Sister 2011" t-shirt to wear. As expected, it only took Aunt Kara a few minutes to know exactly what Kayla's shirt said and meant. Everyone is very excited!!!
