Mommy

Yes, it's true, mommy is finally taking a picture of herself! Here she is - half way (20 weeks)!

Happy Valentine's Day too! :) Daddy got mommy a red rose and box of chocolates (he knows the way to a pregnant ladies heart!). He also got my sister a red rose and singing monkey. The monkey was a big hit - I've heard the song 100 times already!

Follow-up Ultrasound

Shelli called mommy today to let her know, as the ultrasound tech had warned us yesterday, that her placenta is not "seperating" from her cervix as it needs to be. Mommy will have to have another ultrasound at 32 weeks to see if there is any improvement. The placenta needs to be at least 2cm from the cervix and it is currently only 1cm. The placenta is not covering the cervix, which would be worse (known as placenta praevia), however, it is not as far as it should be. Shelli thinks everything will be OK, that most of the time the placenta corrects itself, however, there is a chance it could not improve. If it doesn't improve by the time mommy goes into labor, the only solution is to have a c-section. The risk is bleeding (haemorrhage) during labor/delivery. Please pray this fixes itself!!!

Mommy doesn't have a date for this ultrasound yet, or her next appointment, so stay tuned.

Ultrasound!!

I'm a......

SURPRISE!!!!

Today was the big day!! 20 week ultrasound, can you believe mommy is already half way through the pregnancy?! Time is flying by!! So, Granddaddy, Meermaw, Grandma and Grandpa came into town to go to my ultrasound and see me (just like they did for my big sister). The original appointment was at 9:00 this morning, however, Nashville had a big snow storm roll in yesterday afternoon and the city is iced over this morning. Mommy called the doctor's and was able to reschedule the appointment for 2:30 today. Daddy wanted to bring my big sister to the appointment, so they are just going to have to cut her nap short....hopefully she'll behave! :) And she did. The appointment went great! Kayla did great. She even pointed at the screen towards the end of the appointment and said "Sweet Baby!" Mommy is really glad daddy insisted Kayla come with us. She did so well and it really helped Kayla understand there is a baby in mommy's tummy! So Mommy had the best ultrasound tech. She talked us through the whole ultrasound, showing and telling them everything she saw. She even worked with mommy and daddy so they wouldn't find out if I'm a boy or girl. Yep, mommy and daddy have decided, against EVERYONE'S wishes, to not find out if I'm a boy or girl! Mean, aren't they?! :) The ultrasound tech warned everytime she was near my lower body. She turned the screen away when she was measuring my legs and checking my lower body. She even agreed to print mommy a picture of my gender (like mommy has of my big sister), with a statement written on the picture stating what my gender is. Then the ultrasound tech put the picture in a sealed envelope marked Top Secret. Oh, now will mommy and daddy make it 20 weeks without opening that envelope?!?!?! Time will tell...

Here we all are:

Bronchitis

Mommy went to the doctor today because she just can't stop coughing and is wheezing terribly. Shelli listened to mommy's heart and vitals and determined she has bronchitis. What a sick start to this year! Well, since mommy was at the doctor's anyway, Shelli decided to listen to me and check mommy out. My heartbeat is still strong in the 140s. Everything checked out great! Mommy now won't go to the doctor February 24th, so we'll keep you posted as to when her next appointment will be.

Ultrasound February 10th!!

Daddy felt me move!

Guess what???? Daddy felt me move today!! Mommy was in bed, not feeling well when I started moving. She had daddy lay his hand on her belly and I started moving again! I probably was rolling around, but maybe I was kicking. Either way, he felt it. YEA!!! I think he finally believes mommy that she can feel me now.
